  • Emily Cibelli has accepted a post-doctoral research position at Northwestern University with Matt Goldrick. (To celebrate, Emily is giving lots of talks today.) Congratulations, Emily!
  • NEH-NSF Documenting Endangered Languages grants have been announced for three Berkeley linguists (so far):
    • Christine Beier, "Documenting Iquito: Text corpus and archiving" (fellowship)
    • Lev Michael, "Documenting Iquito: Lexicon and morphological description" (fellowship)
    • Andrew Garrett, Ira Jacknis, and Erik Mitchell: "Linguistic and Ethnographic Sound Recordings from Early Twentieth-Century California: Optical Scanning, Digitization and Access" (research grant)
