Katherine (Katie) Russell is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Script Encoding Initiative. She joined the SEI after receiving her PhD in linguistics from UC Berkeley, where her doctoral work centered on documenting the phonetics and phonology of nasality in Atchan, a language of southeastern Côte d’Ivoire. At SEI, she combines her expertise on minority language dynamics with broader interests in writing systems and language planning and policy.
