The 2019 annual meeting of The Society of Biblical Literature is taking place this weekend in San Diego. The meeting features a pre-conference workshop on Embodied Cognition, Cultural Evolution, and Conceptual Blending, organized by Eve Sweetser, as well as talks by Rich Rhodes entitled Oikos, oikia, and the Problem of Metonymy and What Can Biblical Greek Studies Learn from Cognitive Linguistics? and by Eve Sweetser entitled Iconic and Metaphoric Blends in Chartres Cathedral and Blended Structures in the Parables in the Gospel of Matthew.
